MEET Amy
I design flowers that feel like stories, grow blooms with intention, and build experiences rooted in Beauty, Romance and joy.
But my path to petals wasn’t traditional.
Hello- I’m Amy, the founder of The Florist by Amy Chim.
I started my career in TV working on makeover programmes at the BBC.
After years of soaking up inspiration from cutting-edge programme making with a stint in Galleries and design studios, I knew I wanted to go down the self-employed path. Creativity was always my anchor, but I needed more movement- more people, more purpose, more fun.
So I went out and built it.
First came Little ‘a’ my boutique flower and homeware shop – six years of blooms, antiques, interiors and charm. From there we evolved into weddings and events specialists launching Ava event styling where we’ve spent 12 plus years working on everything from destination weddings and fashion editorials to gala dinners, PR launches and massive productions. All beautiful. All bespoke.
And now we’ve landed somewhere new- and magical.

This chapter is about more than flowers.
Welcome to The timber house: a hand built oak frame home and flower growing studio on the farm. It’s where we design, grow and gather. The land is our canvas. The studio is our sanctuary. We’re still doing flowers, but now were doing them our way- slow, soulful and sustainable
It’s about creating moments with meaning. Floristry that’s intentional. Romantic. Visionary. Made for you.
Whether you’re planning a wedding, a grand celebration or just dreaming of the unexpected, we’re going to grow something truly special together.
Now let’s begin your floral story.
“What to say? Where to start? Amy when I came to visit Hampton Manor with my daughter what we saw wasn’t quite what we were after but coming to your warehouse and chatting to you I knew you were our person. On Saturday Antonia’s wedding day I saw a man walk across the carpark with the biggest arrangement balanced on his head or maybe he was just carrying it. Anyway seeing those pops of red amongst the purples and lilacs I knew this was going to be more than good!! You got me. I know it was Antonia‘s day but she trusted me to get it right for her. It was lovely to see you a face I knew in the bridal suite and know the presentation of the breakfast room would be unbelievably amazing. The amazement showed on everyone’s face including my husband’s. I’ve been to 2 weddings in 2022, I know they paid a lot of money for their flowers but do I remember them? Absolutely not! Everyone of our guests were talking about the flower display. They will remember Antonia’s wedding flowers. Truly beautiful!! I hope you and your team enjoyed arranging them and styling the room. I know I said purple but that pop of red OMG. Fab… u…. lous.
Although I gave the cake guy the colour pallet it wasn’t quite how I envisaged, the silver shading made it more ghostly than bridal. It should have had your pops of red.
The actual cakes were very nice. I have used him before not quite ‘Ben the cake man’ but he couldn’t fit me in.
Thank you sooo much Amy. It was my pleasure to have met you.“
“We just wanted to take a moment to say a huge thank you for being such an incredible part of our wedding day. From start to finish, your professionalism, talent, and dedication truly made our celebration unforgettable.
Whether it was the stunning décor, the amazing flowers, or the seamless coordination behind the scenes, you brought our vision to life in ways we couldn’t have imagined. We’ve received so many compliments from our guests, and we know it wouldn’t have been the same without your hard work and passion.
We are beyond grateful for everything you did to make our day run smoothly and feel so special. Thank you again for your time, effort, and attention to detail—we will be recommending you to everyone we know!“
“Ava Event Styling came highly recommended by Hampton Manor and once we looked through Amy’s portfolio we could see that she knew exactly what to do to make the manor look even more beautiful than it already does!
During our first meeting with Amy, we explained we had a rough idea of what colours (autumnal) we wanted but were not sure how to showcase them as part of a wedding, we wanted to be directed and advised on what would be best. Amy went round the office and showed us items that she had and thought would suit the colours/theming we mentioned and it was like she was looking into our minds! This really gave us the confidence and reassurance that we were in the right hands and our vision would be realised. After the meeting she sent us mood boards to outline what the plan was, which helped us to then go ahead and pick the bridesmaids dresses and groomsmen suits.
Before the wedding, Amy was very accommodating when we mentioned we had bought a neon light but didn’t know how to display it and that we were looking for an easel, she said no problem and would sort it all for us!
On the day itself, the manor looked beautiful. Everything came together better than expected, our guests were stunned – we had so many compliments! The ceremony room and courtyard were styled beautifully, it felt so relaxed and yet everything was so well put together and thought through.
We are so grateful that Amy and the team had realised our vision and made our day so special. We have kept and dried the bouquet and buttonhole to be reminded of how gorgeous the day was.
Thank you!“
